Product Description
The Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic (MRO) is a reflex-style, sealed sight intended for use on rifles, carbines, and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. It is designed to be used with both eyes open, providing the operator with maximum situational awareness. The large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area in such a small optic, allowing for fast target engagement – especially from non-standard shooting positions. Advanced lens coatings and electronics produce a crisp red dot. The brightness control dial on the MRO is specifically designed for ambidextrous usage. With a mid-adjustment “off” position and eight discernible brightness settings, this brightness dial allows for quick and ergonomic adjustments. The MRO features fully protected adjusters that maintain zero even during rough handling, and can be adjusted without the need for special tools. Hard-anodized, forged 7075-T6 housing is fully sealed and waterproof, providing durability in demanding conditions. Power Source: 1 CR2032 Lithium Battery

When switching from this optic to a smaller one you feel as though you are looking through a tube. The 2moa dot allows speed up close and precision out to max effective range. Dot is crisp and clear.
Overall, this is a great serious use rds, and at the price only competes with the pro, while punching above its weight at optics like the aimpoint comp and t series micro dots.
Perhaps the most significant downside of the MRO is that optically, it's OK, but not particularly amazing: it's a very simple contraption that uses a reflection of a side-mounted LED - and so, if you crank it up to maximum brightness in a dark place, you're going to see a lot more glare than you'd expect from a scope. You will have more glare if you mount the MRO closer to your eye, so where possible, you want to mount it closer to the business end of a gun. Still, given this, it stands to reason to ask yourself if it's worth paying $400 or so for this product, when quite a few other brand-name products of this kind are available closer to $100-$200. The main argument in favor of paying more is that this product is just ridiculously tough, with a hefty cast-metal body that likely can be dropped on hard surfaces from a good height without breaking.
In addition to many similarly-looking tube-style red dots, the MRO also faces some competition from the LED-powered variants Trijicon RMR, which have the huge benefit of automatic on-off and brightness functionality, saving you time on fiddling with the knobs (although works best for firearms that are stored in the dark); and with cheap open-frame red dots, such as Burris - which tend to fly off shotguns and generally don't hold up well to abuse - but don't obstruct your view as much.
Good
1. Lightweight
2. Small profile
3. Little tube effect unlike the Aimpoints. The larger objective lens helps minimize the tube effect.
4. Cheaper than an Aimpoint.
5. Henderson Defense out in Las Vegas (machine gun rentals) have used their MRO for years and 100,000+ rounds in their MRO and it still runs like a champ!
6. Long Battery life! 5 years on setting 3!
7. Protected diode. RMR’s, Fast Fires etc have an exposed diode. If dirt/mid gets in there you are out of action soldier! This model protects the diode and a wipe of the lenses and you are back in business!
Bad:
1. Parallax. While not as bad as models under serial number #89,000 there is still a bit.
2. Slight magnification. Not as bad as early models but it is slight. Good news is you have to look for it, probably wont notice it.
3. Does not come with a scope cover like their ACOGS do.
4. Slight bluish tint. Interestingly, the closer the red dot is to my eye, the more the blue tint disappears and with both eyes open and dot closer to my eye, the weaker eye picks up more situational awareness/terrain/threats around the scope
I’ve looked at lots of red dots and this is the lightest non tube effect red dot on the market! ACOG strong and red dot fast!
